Anniversary for March 11

Nelson 50th

Jim and Janet (Powell) Nelson of Lebanon invite their friends and family to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary at a reception hosted by their children from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 14, in the Fellowship Hall at Central Christian Church, 311 E. Main St. in Lebanon. Elevator access is available from the rear of the church.

The Nelsons were married on March 12, 1960, at Central Christian Church, where they are longtime members. They were married on the anniversary of Janet’s parents, who also chose Central Christian Church for their wedding.

Before their retirement, Jim worked for the Lebanon Utilities and Janet taught in the Lebanon Community Schools. Both are lifelong Boone County residents.

The couple has four children and seven grandchildren. Their children are David (Michelle) and Mike (Lisa) of Lebanon, Mark from Nederland, Colo., and Julie Righter from Mattoon, Ill. The grandchildren are Kelli, Jacob, Matthew, Nicholas and Allison Nelson, and Ann and Steven Righter.

The family requests that gifts be omitted.
