Roy and Linda (Collier) Smith will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at a party given by their children at the American Legion in Kingman. The public is invited.
The couple married Feb. 14, 1960, at Advance Christian Church. They own Wallace Manufacturing in Wallace. Their children are Ron Smith of Tangier, Connie Collins of Hillsboro and Jennifer Clore of Kingman.
Thomas and Alice (Minton) Brooks of Gallatin, Tenn., formerly of Lebanon, recently celebrated 50 years of marriage with a trip to the Gulf Coast.
The Brooks were married Feb. 13, 1960, at the Beaver Dam Baptist Church, Beaver Dam, Ky. The Rev. Dale Holley officiated.
He was a psychologist and human resource manager who retired from Parker Hannifin Corp. in 2003. Mrs. Brooks was employed by Bendix Westinghouse and Bristol Myers Squibb Pharmaceuticals. Along with being a homemaker, she was a Cub Scout and Boy Scout leader.
The couple’s children are Jason T. Brooks of Hendersonville, Tenn., and Stephen D. Brooks of Deerfield, Ill. They have five grandchildren.
The family plans to take a celebratory cruise to Grand Cayman Islands and Cozumel at a later date. The couple also plans to visit the Canadian Rockies this summer.
