Coleman 65th
On Sunday, E.J. and Marjorie Coleman will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary with a small family dinner.
The following is a copy of the original wedding announcement that appeared in The Lebanon Reporter on Feb. 20, 1942.
“In a lovely candle-light ceremony in the Lampnfan Chapel in Union Theological Seminary, New York City, Miss Marjorie Louise Gosnell, daughter of Lula B. Gosnell of Lebanon and the late Amos Gosnell, became the bride of Everett Joseph Coleman, Ensign U.S.N.R., son of Mrs. Pearl Coleman of Flint, Michigan, and the late Fred Coleman,.
“The single ring service was read Wednesday afternoon at one o’clock by the Rev. Harold McGee, assistant minister of St. Paul and St. Andrew Methodist Church in New York City.
“Miss Jane Moore of Cary, Miss., was the maid of honor. W.E. Raney, Ensign U.S.N.R., of Muscatine, Iowa, was the bestman. James W. Boatman, Ensign U.S.N.R., of Muscatine, Iowa, gave the bride away.”
Mr. and Mrs. Coleman have resided in Lebanon for the past 50 years. Mr. Coleman has been in business here for many years. They have both been active in many civic activities and organizations. They are members of Otterbein United Methodist Church. They have one daughter, Karen Richards (husband, David) and one granddaughter.
