Haram 50th

David and Karen (Keil) Haram, of Lebanon, will celebrate 50 years of marriage at an open house from 2 to 5 p.m. Oct. 15, 2011, at Bethesda Baptist Church Fellowship Center in Brownsburg. The event will be hosted by their three children. The public is invited to the open house, but the couple requests no gifts.

The Harams were married Oct. 8, 1961, in Pekin, Ill. The Rev. Paul Schedler officiated.

The couple’s children are Tamra and Rick Johnson of Cincinnati, Ohio; John and Rebecca Haram of Colfax; and Andrew and Dana Haram of Brownsburg. They have eight grandchildren.

Mr. and Mrs. Haram owned and operated the Stripping Workshop and Old Barn Antiques from 1979 to 1989. Mr. Haram is retired. He was one of the founding members of the Boone County Antique Auto Club.

Mrs. Haram has been office administrator for Families First in Lebanon for 25 years. She is not yet retired.

The Harams are active members of Bethesda Baptist Church. Besides their three natural children, the Harams were foster parents to 10 children.

The couple has lived in Lebanon for 42 years, and in Boone County for 45 years.

 

Bennett 40th

Floyd and Mona (Gideon) Bennett, of Thorntown, will celebrate 40 years of marriage at an open house from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, at the Thorntown Public Library, 124 N. Market St., Thorntown. Hosts of the open house are Janet Reese and Rowena Bennett will host the open house. The couple requests no gifts.

The Bennetts were married Oct. 23, 1971, in Thorntown.

The couple’s daughter, Trina E. Bennett, passed away April 23, 2003.
