COX 50th

Robert and Myrtle (Summers) Cox, of Thorntown, will celebrate 50 years of marriage with a reception from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22, at the Mechanicsburg Christian Church, hosted by their daughters. The Coxes were married Sept. 20, 1963, at the New Brunswick Christian Church. Brother Fred Gilbert officiated. The couple’s children are Jennifer (Gary) Allen of Kirklin, Cathy (Rick) Marshall of Lebanon, Susan (late Ron Woodard) Woodard of Thorntown, Angela (Brian) Hole of Jamestown, and Kristi (Gary) Jones of Thorntown. They have 19 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Mr. Cox works in sales at Palmor Products. Mrs. Cox worked as a florist at Kroger, retiring in 2006. She now works part time at the Thorntown Library. They are members of Mechanicsburg Christian Church. Mr. and Mrs. Cox enjoy watching their grandchildren play sports, and they enjoy spending time with family.
