Wines 65th

L. Charlie and Wanda L. (Brock) Wines will celebrate 65 years of marriage with an open house from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, at the Senior Citizens Center, 707 S. Lebanon St., hosted by their surviving children. Charlie and Wanda were married on Sept. 18, 1948, in Jeffersonville. The couple's children are Linda Wines, David Wines and Diana (Wines) Woolery. Their son Bradley is deceased. Charlie retired after 23 years as a welder at Parker Hanifen. He also served for 28 years as a volunteer fireman with the Center Township Fire Department, and continues to serve as a Reserve Deputy Sheriff for Boone County. Wanda worked as a pharmacy technician for over 40 years, retiring in 2007. The couple has four grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Charlie and Wanda request no gifts, but cards are welcome.
