Shaffer 50th

Dale and Judy Shaffer will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, at the Boone County Senior Center.

The Shaffers were married on Nov. 29, 1963, at the Otterbein United Methodist Church in Lebanon. The Rev. Paul MacFarland officiated the ceremony.

Their children are Doug Shaffer of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Jill Tucker of Danville. They have four grandchildren, two grandchildren through marriage, and five great-grandchildren.

Dale worked at Harmeson Manufacturing, now Kayco, for 50 years, before retiring from there. Judy worked throughout her career at Harney Elementary, finishing her career in the superintendent’s office.

Dale and Judy now enjoy their life in Naples, Fla., visiting with friends, golfing (Dale) and riding in the golf cart and reading (Judy). Both continue to work by providing in-home care to families in need.

Family and friends are invited to stop by the open house and celebrate with the Shaffer family.
