Ebaugh 50th

Leslie and Loraine (Shoaf) Ebaugh of Jamestown will celebrate 50 years of marriage with an open house from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, at the New Ross United Methodist Church.

The Smiths were married Oc. 12, 1962, at North Christian Church in Advance.

Mrs. Smith is head cook at Granville Wells Elementary School. Mr. Smith is a farmer.

The couple’s children are Libby Cowling of Indianapolis, Lisa Graham of Ladoga, Patrick (Cheryl) Ebaugh of Crawfordsville and Lachelle Day of Brownsburg. They have eight grandchildren.

Smith 70th

Charles D. and M. Maxine Smith of Pittsboro are celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary in October. The couple was married on Oct. 19, 1942, in Lebanon.

Mr. Smith graduated from Pinnell High School, Lebanon, in 1941. Mrs. Smith graduated from Whitestown High School in 1943. They are members of the Pittsboro Methodist Church.

Mr. Smith served in the U.S. Army Air Force from 1942 through 1946. After returning from the service, he attended agricultural school and is a lifelong farmer. Mrs. Smith retired from the Indiana State Nurses’ Association.

They are parents of Charles D. Smith Jr. (Kathryn) of Lebanon, Lee Smith of Pittsboro, Suzie Davidson (Thomas) of Pittsboro and Kathryn Jean Smith (deceased). The Smiths have nine grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

The couple will celebrate at Stookey’s Restaurant, Thorntown, with family and friends. They plan to take a 10-day cruise to the Caribbean in November.
