A wrong-way driver on Interstate 65 in central Indiana caused a head-on crash that police say injured three people.

The Boone County Sheriff's Office says a car was northbound in the highway's southbound lanes late Wednesday when it collided with a taxi company's minivan. A box truck then also hit the taxi that wasn't carrying any passengers.

Police say the woman driving the car was unconscious when emergency crews arrived at the scene near the Indiana 267. She and a male passenger, both from Brownsburg. The woman was taken to Methodist Hospital, the male was taken to St. Vincent Hospital with unknown injuries.

The taxi driver Mohamed Mansaray was taken to St. Vincent with leg and internal injuries. Information on their conditions wasn't immediately released.

Police say alcohol was a suspected factor in the crash.
