Police seize twelve pounds of meth

Boone County — Investigators from a Boone-Clinton County drug interdiction task force seized 12 pounds of methamphetamine after a traffic stop at the Wendy’s restaurant in Lebanon Thursday night.

Charges against those arrested were pending in Clinton County, a woman at the Clinton County Prosecutor’s Office said Friday afternoon.

Prosecutor Anthony Sommer was in court and not immediately available, she said. Because officers were completing their reports, charges will be filed Monday.

Lebanon Police assisted the Interstate Criminal Enforcement Task Force in the arrests, LPD Lt. Brent Wheat said. The ICETF includes officers from the Boone and Clinton County sheriff’s offices and the Lebanon and Frankfort police departments.

The drug has an estimated street value between $450,000 and $1.75 million, depending on the fluctuating market for meth, according to cyrstalmethaddiction.org.

A “hit” of meth is a quarter-gram, according to the website. Prices range between $20 and $80 for a hit.
