Lebanon — Bonnie Bowman of Lebanon was selected from thousands of entries to try and win $10,000 in The Lebanon Reporter's 2010 Christmas Cash Contest.
Entry forms were published in the newspaper, and contestants could enter at all 24 local merchants who participated. A winner was chosen from each of the 24 businesses, and Bowman was picked to try for the $10,000 cash.
"I entered three times at all the locations," Bowman said Wednesday. To win the money, Bowman needed to pull the one envelope out of 100 that contained the grand prize ticket.
Bowman wasn't sure what she would do if she won the money during the drawing at The Reporter office Wednesday. Unfortunately, her choice read, "Better luck next time."
But she didn't go home empty-handed. She received a 22-inch flatscreen TV as a consolation prize.
"All right, thank you," Bowman said.
