Boys Basketball pairings

Pairings for the 2010-11 IHSAA Boys Basketball Tournament were announced Sunday evening. At the Lebanon Sectional, Western Boone will face North Montgomery, and Lebanon will face Danville in the first round. Southmont and Crawfordsville received a bye. In the Noblesville sectional, Zionsville is paired with Fishers in the first round. Sectional games are scheduled for Feb. 28 to March 5.

    A two-block area centered on the intersection of Camp Street, North Meridian Street and Ulen Drive was shut down Friday after a 4-inch high pressure natural gas line was punctured by a construction crew.

  • Lady Stars advance to regional final in 3 OT thriller

    It was a game that Western Boone and Tri-West fans will be talking about for a long time.

    Fortunately for the Stars, the memories will be happy ones. The Western Boone girls basketball team out-lasted Tri-West 66-62 in triple overtime in the regional semifinals Saturday afternoon, moving the Stars onto the regional championship tonight.

  • Stars, Tigers to meet for sectional title

    It will be an All-Boone County Sectional final Saturday night, as Western Boone and Lebanon both advanced earlier today.

    The game will start at 8 p.m. at Western Boone, with the doors opening at 7 p.m.

  • Heavy snow closes schools, city offices

    INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Travel has been snarled across Indiana as crews clean up from heavy snowfall or freezing rain in much of the state. Most counties across Indiana are asking people to restrict their travel and many schools, universities and government offices have closed for the day or delayed their Wednesday openings.

    The Western Boone volleyball team won its third-straight sectional title in volleyball Saturday night.
    The Stars defeated Crawfordsville 3-0 (25-5, 25-14, 25-16) to advance to the regional.

    Once the Western Boone volleyball team got rolling Saturday afternoon in the sectional semifinals against Lebanon, there was little the Tigers could do to stop it.

    The Stars downed the Tigers 3-0 (25-18, 25-12, 25-9) to advance to tonight's sectional finals.

    Early Sunday morning, at 3:49 a.m., Indiana State Police responded to a two vehicle crash on I-465 SB at the 24.4 mm in Boone County that killed one man.
