The Community Choir and cast will offer a look at the Christmas event as it happened long ago and as it happens today in the hearts and minds of those who believe. The special service is under the direction of Linda Prage.

The church is located at 210 N. Market St. in Thorntown.

Candlelight service

Cornerstone Baptist Church will play host to a candlelight service at 7 p.m. on Christmas Eve. The community is welcome. For more information, contact Pastor Mark Thacker at 769-3222.

Thorntown Presbyterian

The Thorntown Presbyterian Church, located at 301 W. Main St., Thorntown, will present a Christmas Eve service at 6 p.m.

Lebanon First Baptist

The Lebanon First Baptist Church will hold two services on Christmas Eve.

The 6 p.m. service is built around the theme: A Family Christmas. The service will be interactive, fun and under an hour. The informality of the service should appeal to all families, especially those with younger children. A surprise visitor is expected as well.

The 9 p.m. service will tell the Story of Jesus’ birth through familiar Christmas carols. The meanings behind the carols will be explained throughout the service. Special music will include instrumental solos by Pam Davis, flute, and Cameron Hudson, violin. Ensembles providing music are the hand bell choir, First Baptist Ringers and the Praise Team, Rejoice. The evening will conclude with the traditional lighting of candles from the Christ candle, while everyone sings Silent Night.

Special guest artist for both services is award winning Christian County singer/songwriter Tommy Brandt. The entire community is invited to attend.

The church is located at 207 E Washington St. in Lebanon. For more information about the church visit www.lebanonfirstbaptist.org or call 482-1653.
