Three more pieces of Anson Project gain approval

Progress in the Anson Project continues at a fast pace.

By Drew Stone/The Lebanon Reporter

Lebanon Progress in the Anson Project continues at a fast pace.

Three more pieces in Anson received approval by the Boone County Area Plan Commission. The three pieces were a school, credit union and major shipping warehouse.

The first piece was Indiana Members Credit Union which received final development plan approval. The building will be located west of Heartland Drive in the business district of the Anson Project.

The second piece was Primrose School Franchising Company’s childcare and preschool facility. Also in the business district, the building will be located west of County Road 650 East.

Primrose practices “teacher-directed” learning where teachers use research-based curriculum to guide children along a continual learning path, and “child-initiated,” where children pursue individual interests through play and exploration.

Primrose’s Web site reports its teachers support children’s learning by addressing subjects such as language and literacy, physical development and health, mathematics, social/emotional, science and technology, social studies and creative arts and expression which are incorporated within the exclusive research-based, “Balanced Learning” curriculum.

Character development is woven into each day through learning and play experiences. The goal is for each child to become a well-rounded individual—continually learning and enjoying life.

Finally, Duke received preliminary development plan approval for additional parking area in Anson Building No. 1, the future location of Amazon.com’s shipping warehouse.

Amazon will use the 630,000-square-foot building as a distribution center. The building is on Anson Boulevard. Products such as books, CDs, videos and toys will be brought in by trucks, which made the site’s location within the Interstate 65 corridor a top choice for Amazon.
