United Way honors contributors

Gander Mountain is the United Way of Central Indiana’s outstanding organization of the year.
Employees at the sporting goods company’s distribution center in Lebanon Business Park contributed $23,501 to United Way of Central Indiana’s 2007 campaign — more than any other company. That and other efforts earned the company the Spirit of Community Award.
Nearly 900 employees at 50 companies gave an average of $145 to the United Way’s 2007 campaign, Jill Troha, Boone County area director for the United Way of Central Indiana, said in an awards breakfast Thursday morning at Ulen Country Club.
Gander Mountain also:
n had the largest percent increase among Pacesetter campaigns with 278 percent, representing more than $11,000 in additional donations;
n had the largest increase in participation;
n earned the Breakthrough Campaign award, and
n was one of 21 firms receiving the “A Company That Cares” award, the highest that United Way issues.
Also named A Company That Cares were: Arc Rehab Services; Bodkin Associates, Inc.; Boone County Family YMCA; Boys & Girls Club of Zionsville; City of Lebanon; Culligan Water Conditioning of Boone County; General Cable; Hachette Book Group USA; Haynes International Midwest Service Center; Hendrickson Trailer Suspension Systems; Home National Bank; Lebanon Area Boys & Girls Club; The Lebanon Reporter; NorthPark Community Credit Union; Northwest Radiology Network; Parr Richey Obremskey & Morton; State Bank of Lizton Boone County; The Farmers Bank and Zionsville Community Schools.
Hachette Book Group was honored for the largest increase in corporate giving; Zionsville Community Schools had the largest percent increase in employee contributions, and NorthPark Community Credit Union was honored for the top first-time workplace campaign.
The other top four contributing companies were Hendrickson Trailer Suspension Systems, $20,874; Hachette Book Group, $14,600; Zionsville Community Schools, $9,900 and State Bank of Lizton, $8 502.
Other Pacesetter companies were: Arch Rehab Services; Bodkin Associates; Boone County Family YMCA; Boone County Senior Services; Hendrickson Trailer Suspension Systems; Prairie Industries and State Bank of Lizton, Lebanon.
Breakthrough campaign winners increase donations by 30 percent or $30,000. Those firms were Bodkin Associates; City of Lebanon; Gander Mountain; Hachette Book Group USA; Northwest Radiology Network; State Bank of Lizton Boone County, for the second year; The Farmers Bank and Zionsville Community Schools.
