Morning Dove’s mission is to enrich the lives of individuals in need by building relationships with horses in a safe and natural setting.
“It has been a passion and privilege to lead Morning Dove, every day I am inspired by the children and parents we serve,” Helsper said.
July 31 will be Helsper’s official last day, although she plans to remain involved with Morning Dove, which is located in the Whitestown area.
“Lisa John is someone I know and trust to keep Morning Dove moving in the right direction. Lisa will have as much passion for this organization as I do,” Helsper said.
John has been Executive Director for the Community Foundation of Boone County the past 10 years. She has a master’s in Rehabilitation Psychology and worked with children with special needs for 15 years.
“I look forward to working with the children and I can’t think of a better way than utilizing a relationship with horses,” John said. John also looks forward to working with the Morning Dove board of directors as they aspire to build a new riding facility. John will also maintian Morning Dove’s current partnerships with St. Vincent’s Hippo therapy Program and Duke Reality, in addition to the establishment of new partnerships.
