4-H rabbit show

Lebanon Several winning rabbits were named champions Friday.

The 2008 Boone County 4-H Rabbit Show was held Friday. Around 250 rabbits were entered in this year’s competition with four division champions named.

The four champions were:

n Six-class Champion, Adam Rice, 15, of Jamestown,

n Four-class Champion, Jacki Spall, 12, of Jamestown,

n Fryer Champion, Clifford Shirley 12, of Thorntown,

n Meat Pen Champion, Tyler Olson, 12, Zionsville.

The four champions all said they were very excited to be named the overall winners.

“I was kind of surprised when I won,” Rice said. “But I was very happy.”

“I feel pretty good,” Shirley said. “There were a lot of good rabbits.”

Others said there were completely surprised they beat out such rough competition.

“I was totally shocked,” Spall said. “I was going against really good competition, I didn’t think I had a good shot.”

The rabbit show was the second 4-H show that was held Friday.
