Church expects 700 at annual dinner

By Rod Rose/The Lebanon Reporter

Lebanon Thursday’s Community Thanksgiving Dinner at Lebanon Rock Church, 504 E. Elm St, could attract a record number of guests.

It’s the 25th annual event, at which a traditional Thanksgiving dinner is given free to all.

The menu includes turkey, dressing, sweet potatoes, green beans, cake and pumpkin pie.

“This year we have been blessed by the outpouring of volunteers,” said Michelle Smith, director of the event.

Monetary donations are still being accepted to cover the cost of items not donated. “Our goal is to reach those in need within our community and provide them with a hot Thanksgiving meal,” she said.

Dine-in, carry-out and delivery are available; serving time is 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Advance meal orders, to help with planning, are requested: Call (765) 482-4087. Walk-ins are welcome, Smith said.
