Suspect held in Jamestown burglary

Staff report

Lebanon Nathaniel Caldwell, 19, rural Jamestown, was arrested Thursday night, on a preliminary charge of burglary.Police received a call at about 10 p.m. about noises at 65 W. Main St., Brenda’s Antiques, in Jamestown at about 10 p.m..

“Someone in the neighborhood heard a commotion,” said Thorntown Deputy Marshal Frank Clark, who assisted Jamestown Marshal Dennis Isenhower on the call.A witness described the suspect’s clothes, and Isenhower found Caldwell about a block away near the post office, Clark said.

“I just happened to see somebody walking down the street, when they put out a dispatch over the air on what he was wearing,” Isenhower said.

Clark said the witness identified Caldwell, who was arrested on a preliminary charge of burglary.

Another suspect eluded police, but Isenhower has a good lead on that suspect’s identity.

Isenhower will determine if Caldwell and the other suspect will be charged in connection to burglaries at four other Main Street Jamestown businesses in Jamestown that were broken into overnight Tuesday or early Wednesday.
