Community commemorates 9/11 attack

Boone County — Boone County Chief Deputy Mike Nielsen pauses for a moment of silence Tuesday morning. Sept. 11, during a 9/11 tribute ceremony in front of the Boone County Courthouse.

“This is an anniversary of triumph,” Lebanon Police Department Chief Sam Myers said. “The terrorists hoped to bring America to its knees that day and actually brought us to our feet. This event strengthened the love for our country. Let us commemorate the 11th anniversary of the attacks with a renewed sense of dedication, devotion and commitment.”

Speakers included Nielsen, Myers, and Lebanon Fire Department Chief Jason Lee.
