Boone County —
The 55th Annual Mrs. Boone County Pageant will take place this Saturday, June 8, at the Freedom Church on Indianapolis Avenue.
The pageant has been referred to as an “Honors Banquet” in the past, because it honors married women in the community who have made special time and effort to volunteer their services to charitable organizations that help the people of Boone County. This year’s pageant is honoring nine women who range in age from 32 to 61. The requirements for the contestants are: they must be married, be between the ages of 30 and 65, they must have lived in Boone County for at least five years, and they must be sponsored by a non-profit organization.
“All of the women exemplify huge hearts, giving hands, great personalities, and have committed themselves to helping Boone County thrive as an outstanding community to live in and raise families,” noted Terri Batts, a member of the Mrs. Boone County Committee.
