Fire damages rural home

Lebanon — Fire heavily damaged a rural Lebanon home in southern Boone County Friday afternoon.

The cause was not immediately determined, but fire burned through an exterior wall and through the roof of the Ken and Janice Hamilton home at 3590 County Road 625 South, about a half-mile west of Indiana 39 at New Brunswick.

Crews from Jamestown, Boone County’s Perry Township, Brownsburg and Danville fire departments assisted Lizton-Union Township Fire Department at the scene.

No one was home and there were no reports of injuries to firefighters.

Dan Hiland, a neighbor, reported the fire at 3:15 p.m.
