Council OKs increase in psychiatric exam, pauper attorney funding

---- — An unexpected number of psychiatric exams to determine whether defendants are competent to stand trial led the Boone County Council to approve funding for the tests.

Only $3,000 was budgeted for “forensic exams” this year, Superior Court II Judge Rebecca McClure said.
