LMS Swimming and DivingBoth the Lebanon Middle School boys and girls swam their first meet of the year Tuesday night at Danville Middle School. The girls lost 92-91, while the boys were victorious 107-77. Placing first for the girls were: Noelle Parks in the 200 freestyle and the 400 freestyle relay; Maci French in diving; Lucy Gascho in the 100 freestyle and the 400 freestyle relay. Placing second for the girls were: The 200 Medley relay team of Cayleigh Dial, Maci French, Lucy Gascho, Angie Zheng; Angie Zheng the 100 individual medley and 100 breaststroke; Cayleigh Dial in the 50 fly and the 100 backstroke; and Noelle Parks in the 400 freestyle.

Placing first for the boys were: 200 Medley Relay team of Zach Peycha, Austyn Wicks, Tyler Brown and Grant Goff; Tyler Brown in the 50 butterfly and the 100 individual medley; Zach Peycha in the 50 freestyle and 100 backstroke; Grant Goff in the 100 freestyle; Joshua Newman in the 100 breaststroke; and the boys 400 freestyle relay team of Tyler Brown, Austyn Wicks, Grant Goff, and Zach Peycha. Placing second for the boys were: Austyn Wicks in the 200 freestyle; Joshua Newman in diving; Austyn Wicks in the 400 freestyle; the 200 freestyle relay team of Atlantic Zheng, Joshua Newman, Phillip Betts, and Thomas Engels.

The girl swimmer of the meet was Noelle Parks. The boy swimmer of the meet was Zach Peycha.

WeBo Jr. High Swimming, DivingThe Western Boone junior high swim team kicked off its season on Tuesday night with a meet at Fountain Central. The Stars boys’ team won 95-89, and the Stars girls’ team won 105-69.

Nearly every Western Boone swimmer achieved a personal best. Notable improvements included Duncan Hunley in the 100-yard IM (-25s) and 50-yard butterfly (-5.5s), Will Jenkins in the 100-yard freestyle (-15s), Jake McGee in the 50-yard freestyle (-7s), and Josh Wright in the 100-yard freestyle (-21s) and 50-yard freestyle (-5s).

Athletes who won their events were:Marley Boone in the 50-yard freestyle, Reagan Gubera in diving, Duncan Hunley in the 100-yard IM, Jacob Imbus in the 100-yard breaststroke, Olivia Richardson in the 100-yard IM, Josh Wright in the 100-yard freestyle and 100-yard backstroke, the girls 400-yard freestyle relay team of Lauren Jones, Olivia Richardson, Kate Fuesting and Marley Boone, the boys 200-yard freestyle relay team of Josh Wright, Ethan Dobbs, Will Jenkins and Duncan Hunley; the boys 400-yard freestyle relay team of Duncan Hunley, Will Jenkins, Deetz Holdorf and Josh Wright.

The Stars will compete at Tri-West on Thursday.
