After surprise request, council appoints Wheat to the RDC

Boone County Councilman Brent Wheat has been appointed to the Boone County Redevelopment Commission board of directors after his request for the appointment took some fellow council members by surprise at the panel’s Feb. 11 meeting.

Wheat, a Republican representing the council’s Third District, is not seeking re-election. He said after the meeting that he wanted to remain active in the community.
