---- — A $28,000 fund that will budget money for jail operations and programs, and safekeeping of inmates considered too risky to be kept at the jail, was approved by the Boone County Council on Feb. 11.

The misdemeanant fund includes $5,000 for miscellaneous jail operations that cant be covered from other funds; $20,000 for inmate-oriented programs, and $3,000 for safekeeping, Sheriff Ken Campbell said. The safekeeping line covers the costs of transferring troublesome inmates to the Indiana Department of Corrections.
