Humane Society gains land in Boone County

The Humane Society for Boone County got just what it was hoping for at its first-ever Fur Ball fundraiser last weekend.

The fundraiser was held to raise money so the shelter-less society could eventually build a home. And not only did it surpass its $20,000 fundraising goal at the event, the society also accepted a very special donation — 6.2 acres of land on which to build.
