Boone Co. to enforce 'frost law' road restrictions

---- — Vehicles weighing more than 12 tons are banned from county roads through May 1, but exemptions will be granted to school buses and propane delivery trucks. Other exemptions will be on a case-by-case basis, and farmers can expect to be granted waivers if they need to haul grain or move feed to livestock.

Enforcement of the ban under the county’s 1965 “frost law” will begin March 10, the Boone County Commissioners decided at their Monday meeting. The law bans vehicles weighing more than 24,000 pounds total weight from county roads between Jan. 1 and May 1.
