County will participate in juvenile detention initiative

---- — Participation in a program that would help Boone County reduce juvenile detentions won approval from the Boone County Commissioners Monday.

Circuit Court Judge Jeff Edens and Boone County Chief Probation Officer Kari Ragsdale outlined the project for the commissioners as they asked for approval of a grant application. The county’s Community Corrections Board will oversee the project once it is launched in about a year, Edens said.
