Courthouse, other buildings damaged by painted graffiti

Boone County — A vandal or vandals scrawled on walls throughout Lebanon, including the Boone County Courthouse and the Lebanon Public Library, over the weekend.

Mike Miller, the courthouse maintenance superintendent, said power washing removed paint from two columns on the south side of the courthouse, although a shadow image of the area that was cleaned remained.

About half of the paint was removed by county workers; the rest was taken off by a contractor who specializes in stone work, Miller said.
