---- — Boone and 10 other counties have become participants in Indiana‚Äôs Juvenile Detention Alternatives Initiative, bringing to 19 the JDAI counties in the state.

The Indiana General Assembly appropriated $5,550,000 over two years to bring new counties into the program, said Michelle Tennell, the Indiana JDAI state coordinator. With the new counties, about 56 percent of Indiana youths between 10 and 17 will live in a county with a JDAI program.
