---- — With less than two weeks left in its bell-ringing campaign, the Salvation Army of Boone County is holding kettles that are less than half full.
“Our total stands at $10,800, which is a little short of half-way to the project goal,” bell-ringing chairman Pastor Richard Burdett said Wednesday. “We are not discouraged, but are greatly challenged to reach what seems to be an overwhelming need.”
Burdett blamed a briefer-than-usual period between Thanksgiving and Christmas, and unusually bad weather, for the drop in donations.
