Elevator for new annex may be too costly

---- — Renovations of the former Elks Lodge building at 220 W. Washington St., Lebanon, are being modified because of unexpected costs.

An elevator was one option proposed by Forrest B. Ewen, a senior project manager for DLZ, the architect/engineering firm chosen by the Boone County Commissioners to oversee the renovation. Because an elevator and stairway tower would have to be built, however, that option could add between $200,000 and $250,000 to the renovation cost, Ewen told the commissioners in April.
