Mattinglys reign over sheep show

Lebanon — Anyone who stepped into the Witham Health Services Pavilion during the six-hour 4-H sheep show Sunday evening was almost guaranteed to hear the name Mattingly.

Tessa Mattingly and Sam Mattingly between them showed in 10 of the 43 classes during the show, and in nearly every case one of them — or both — ended up in the top two.

When the top awards were announced, the Mattingly duo were there as well: Tessa had the grand champion and reserve grand champion ewes and the reserve grand market lamb, and Sam took top honors for market lamb. Other top sheep this year belonged to Briley Burns (grand ram), Zachery Moore (reserve grand ram), and Austin Chandler (Boone County grand market lamb).

Results of the show are in the July 27 issue of The Lebanon Reporter.
