County's request for snow disaster status pending

An application from local officials to have Boone County declared a disaster area because of a crippling Jan. 5 snow storm is pending review by state officials.

Boone County Emergency Management Agency Director Mike Martin disputed a statement from Indiana Homeland Security officials that the county had not filed an application.

“The state told us they misplaced our paperwork,” Martin said Wednesday. “We were third in the state to file.”
