A 59-year-old rural Thorntown man was found dead outside his home Tuesday after neighbors went to check on him.

The man, who had not been identified at press time, had been outside the home in the 1600 block of West County Road 725 North “for some time” when rescuers arrived after the 10:05 p.m. 9-1-1 call, Thorntown Fire Chief Mike Martin said Wednesday morning.
