Lids to move corporate headquarters to Zionsville

(Continued)

Kocher said the new headquarters will initially provide 400 corporate jobs and will grow from there.

He said they hope to open in late 2015.

Kocher said they chose Zionsville because they wanted to stay in the northwest Indianapolis corridor.

“It came down to our employees,” he said. “We didn’t want to uproot them from their houses and families. Zionsville came to the game late, but it’s perfect for our employees.”

Bryan Brackemyre, Boone County Economic Development executive director, said Lids is a major get for Zionsville and Boone County.

“It establishes a corporate headquarters in Boone County, and it’s something we can build upon,” he said. “I think this is the first spark to something greater and sets a precedent for the future and establishes that area of Zionsville.”
