Zionsville resident faces 5 felony bank robbery charges

A Zionsville man has been arrested in connection with a Clay County bank robbery and three Montgomery County bank robberies. Charges are pending against him in a fifth bank robbery in Morgan County.

Boone County Sheriff's Office deputies apprehended Alan Wayne McCormick, 46, 7725 Oak St., Friday afternoon, March 21, on a warrant issued out of Clay County Circuit Court. McCormick was transported to the Clay County Jail, where he was booked on a preliminary charge of armed robbery, a Class A felony.

"His bond amount is $125,000 cash-only," said Clay County Sheriff's Office Det. Jerry Siddons. "There's no 10 percent allowed."

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office deputies had just arrested McCormick at 6:10 a.m. Thursday, on three initial charges of armed robbery. He was released from the Montgomery County Jail at 3:50 p.m. March 20 on $30,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Montgomery County Circuit Court at 1:15 p.m. on April 7.

"He was arrested at his residence without incident," said Major Ryan Needham of the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, adding the arrest was made based on information gathered during an investigation into the robberies.
