Effigy of president attracts attention

Boone County — Eric Smith, rural Lebanon, said he is taking down an effigy of President Barack Obama that caused outrage among some people and discomfort for his neighbors. He said he’s taking it down because, “I’m sick of hearing about it from people.”

On Tuesday the controversial stuffed figure was photographed and videoed dangling from a wood post — wearing a President Obama Halloween mask.
