---- — The much-delayed ISTEP-plus scores released publicly Wednesday show continued improvement by Boone County students on the standardized tests that measure proficiency in the core subjects of math and English, despite widespread test interruptions for the online test-takers this year. The results, released by the Indiana Department of Education, show 75.1 percent of test-takers, students in grades 3 to 8, in the Lebanon Community School Corporation passed both portions this year, 82 percent in the Western Boone Community School Corporation, and 91.3 percent in Zionsville Community Schools. This is a small decrease for LCSC, where 78.1 percent of students passed in 2012, but an increase for Western Boone, which had a 2012 passing rate of 79.2. Zionsville’s passing rate held steady. Western Boone pass rates have been increasing for several years. The pass percentage in 2011 was 79 percent, compared to 77.1 percent in 2010 and 71.3 percent in 2009.
