Local officials see no immediate impact of government shutdown

Boone County should avoid — for the near future — many negative impacts of the federal government’s shutdown. While some federal bureaus are closed — the local offices of the USDA’s Farm Service Agency and Soil and Water Conservation District on West Pearl Street are dark — few local agencies anticipate gloomy futures, unless the shut-down becomes lengthy.
