Man dies after early morning accident on Witt Road

A Lebanon man who died after his small SUV hit a full-size pickup head-on, was on his way home from a trip to a store that he made because he couldn’t fall asleep. Darrin K. Ashcraft, 47, 1000 block of Lafayette Avenue, was taken by Boone County EMS to Witham Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead after the 5:17 a.m. Thursday crash on Witt Road, about six blocks from his home. “According to family members, he said he couldn’t sleep and went to Wal-Mart,” said Lebanon Police Department Lt.
