Quilt planned to celebrate Thorntown library's centenntial

Thorntown quilters have decided to honor the 100th anniversary of the Thorntown Public Library by creating a centennial wall quilt. Area quilters or those with ties to Thorntown and the library are invited to participate, said Librarian Karen Niemeyer. The sampler quilt will contain 16 blocks, in a four by four pattern. The finished blocks are to be 9-½ “ square so that the blocks will be 9” after Judy Skow assembles them with sashing and borders. One common fabric is to be represented in each block and will be provided by the library; other fabrics will come from quilters’ personal fabric stashes.
