Village Post Office to open in Jamestown

Jamestown — Following ceremonies at noon today, the Jamestown IGA, 33 Brush St., will be home to the 36th Village Post Office in Indiana.

Local officials and IGA owners Mike Brennan and Mike Cook will join Carmen Jennings, U.S. Postal Service manager of post office operations, for the ceremony, to be followed by an open house from noon to 1 p.m.

The opening of a VPO in Jamestown as a way to help their customers during those times when the existing Post Office is closed for the day, Brennan said in a press release. “We put up the VPO sign, and already we’re getting a good response,” he said.
