Boone County —
Elected officials in Boone County will receive a 3 percent raise beginning this month, while county employees will see a 2 percent increase in pay and qualify for an additional 1 percent based on their performance.
It had been three years since county employees or elected officials had seen a salary increase.
“I’m glad we’re looking at giving incentive pay” to employees, Councilman David Rodgers said. “That’s how the business world works and it’s how we need to be working.”
The council split 4-3 on increasing salaries for elected officials, with yes votes from Butch Smith, Debby Shubert, Brent Wheat and Steve Jacob. That decision wasn’t reached on the first vote, however.
