Group calls for total smoking ban in Boone

Boone County — A complete ban on smoking countywide is being sought from the Boone County Commissioners by a local task force, including the Boone County Board of Health.

Angie Dickerson, director of Tobacco Free Boone County, announced the project at Wednesday’s meeting of the Boone County Healthy Coalition, seeking the organization’s backing.

The ban would be modeled on a Zionsville ordinance that is the most restrictive smoke-free law in Indiana, Dickerson said.
