State orders upgrades at fatal rail crossing

Boone County — Crossing gates and flashing lights will be installed at a Jamestown railroad crossing where two women died and another was critically injured in an Aug. 2, 2012 car-train collision.

Joan Gochenour, 82, was the only survivor of the crash on Boone County Road at the eastern edge of Jamestown. She and her husband are suing Boone and Hendricks counties, CSX Transportation, Inc., Jamestown, the state and others, for unspecified damages.
