Burglary suspects arrested in stolen truck

Boone County — As criminal schemes go, it was borderline brilliant — until someone called Boone County Sheriff’s Office dispatchers about a suspicious vehicle Thursday.

After police stopped them, Devin Antuan Johnson, 29, and Jerry D. Foster, 31, both of Indianapolis, were en route to the Boone County Jail, their apparent attempt to disguise themselves as construction or highway workers thwarted.

The caller said he noticed a yellow pickup, with a yellow light on top, at a rural Whitestown home where he thought it did not belong.

Officers converged from north and south on the location, and a Zionsville unit spotted the 2003 Ford F-250 pickup. When other units were in position, the truck was stopped, initially for a seat belt violation, near CR 976 E and CR 375 S about 11:20 a.m.
