Lebanon Rock Church serves more than 800 meals

Nearly 70 volunteers from area churches and ministry groups helped Lebanon Rock Church deliver more than 800 Thanksgiving meals.

“This year’s Thanksgiving dinner received more donations than ever,” said Stephanie Skiles. “We thank all those who generously donated and helped brighten the Thanksgiving of many needy people in our community.”

More than 75 turkeys, along with 75 pies, were donated, Skiles said. Local restaurants Brenda’s Cubbard, Bob Evans, Denny’s, Parky’s Smokehouse, Steak and Shake and Flap Jack’s made “generous donations of food items that were a tremendous help,” she said.

It was the 29th year the church, 504 E. Elm St., Lebanon, has sponsored the holiday event.

Each year, both the number of meals served and the volunteers who prepare and serve them have increased, Skiles said.

“The church looks forward to continuing the tradition,” she said.
