Cross-country cyclists stop on Lebanon’s square

By Sarah Lang

Lebanon — A group of bicyclists from London who are biking across the country stopped briefly for lunch on the Boone County Courthouse Square Friday.

The group is on the Portland to Portland 2013 ride, which goes from Portland, Ore., to Portland Place, a street in London — with a plane ride in the middle. The ride is to raise money for three charities.

Friday was their 46th day riding, and they planned to stay in Indianapolis last night. There are many architects in the group, so they are trying to hit as many cities as possible to explore their architecture. Plans were to go from Indianapolis to Cincinnati, Columbus, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia and New York City, before boarding a plane to the west coast of Ireland. The group is also exploring architectural provisions for cyclists in the United States, not just motorists.
